This research is a contribution to the study of historical religious text in modernist thought. It aims to study the concept of modernist thought and the term of historical text among modernists with reference to Muhammad Shahrour. The study also aims to examine ‘modernity’ as a concept and its principles of human centrality, relativism of facts, denial of the primacy of values, and its apparent effects in the dismantling of the structure of the sacred and the abolition of tradition, denying the infallibility of revelation, and re-reading it with a historical approach that change according to the conditions of the addressees. The study seeks to describe this methodology, analyze and critique it with an academic scholarly view and deconstruct it, highlighting its flaws. Moreover, the study is an attempt to prove the infallibility and miraculousness of the Qur’anic revelation and the dominance of its style over eloquent literary styles and its distinction from the historical structural style.

The author will set off by highlighting the characteristics of the Qur'anic term as each single word was wisely chosen and masterly positioned in its proper place and congruent context that any other term could not replace it. Furthermore, this research aims to reveal the characteristics of the Quranic structure and systems through exhibition of its verbal consistency, internal rhythm that is consistent with the sense, its concise and adequate expression in meaning, prove that its style is devoid of being tedious and boring as well as to highlight the sound harmony in its systems, its euphony and its effective impact on addressed’s psyche as if it is in its agreement and coherence one piece, then it is realized that it falls out of mankind’s capacity and it is impossible for them to produce the like thereof. Abstract This abstract is summarized by the revelation of the epistemology status of the theology in the Islamic thought, defining it and dividing it into acceptable and unacceptable and choosing the right one corresponding to the origins of pilgrims in the holy Quran and prophetic Sunnah and neglecting the loathsome which is inconsistent with the method of revelation in addition to detecting its bases and the inference in the proof of the faithful truths and refuting the philosophical hypotheses and functionalizing it in facing the material, philosophical and semi monotheistic thought and restoring it in line with the challenges of the time including the displaying of cognitive impairments and the roots of the scientific discoveries of theology scientists. Abstract This study briefly shows a reformist thoughts of Badi 'al-Zaman Nursi, as well as his role in proving the truth of faith as there must be a God with comprehensive methodological arguments consisting of Quranic Approach, Scientific evidence, Mental philosophical and logical arguments, verbal evidence and refute philosophy of physics and the modern theories such as theory of evolution and upgrading and the theory of natural selection. This study also try to negate it by using a philosophical approach against defective thought and replace it with other methodologies which compatible with spirit of the Quranic revelation and suit with the requirements of the conflict between Islam and its rivals. ملخص البحث يتلخص مضمون هذا البحث في إبراز دور المجدد بديع الزمان النورسي في تجديد روح الدين وإحياء عزيمة الأمة على النهوض بعد الهزائم المتوالية التي منيت بها في عهده، وذلك بغرس العقيدة الصحيحة في قلوب المسلمين بعد أن مرضت بالشهوات والشبهات فانحرفت عن الصواب وزلت عن الصراط. ويتناول البحث منهجه التجديديّ في مواجهته العلمية والعملية مع المستشرقين في غزوهم الفكري، وتوصل البحث إلى أن النورسي قد ابتكر منهجية فريدة من نوعها تمثلت في إثبات عصمة القرآن بالأدلة العلمية والعقلية والمنطقية، ثم المبادرة بالطعن في مناهجهم مبيناً فسادها ملزماً إياهم بما يعتقدون ثم إيراد شبهاتهم وتفنيدها ببيان تناقضها في ذاتها، وتحويلها من شبهة لهم إلى حجة عليهم بأسلوب أثبت من خلاله أن ما ادعوا أنه قـدحٌ في القرآن إنما هو الإعجاز بعينه. الكلمات المفتاحية: التجديد-النورسي – المستشرقين – برهنة – حقائق –شبهات. Abstract The content of this research is concluded in highlighting the role of the Renewer “Al-Mujaddīd” Bediulzzaman El-Nursi in the renewal of the religion’s spirit and the revival of the determination of the Ummah to advance after successive defeats from which the Ummah suffered during his reign. He did his role by inserting the true faith in the hearts of Muslims that were victims of ill desires and misconceptions which took them away from the right way and thus left the righteous path. The research deals with his regenerative approach in the face of his scientific and practical confrontations with Orientalists in their intellectual invasion. The research found that El-Nursi has devised a unique methodology in the field of proving Qur’an infallibility by scientific, intellectual and logic evidence. He had initiative effort in challenging and refuting their methodologies indicating their irrelevances by using what they themselves believe. He used to retell their misconceptions and then refute them by explaining their internal contradictions, and convert them from misconceptions for them into proofs against them with a certain manner in which proved that what they claimed as insulation against Qur’an is a miracle of that Holy Book, al-Qur’an.
