Optimization of swelling, drug loading and release from natural polymer hydrogels
2018-12
IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (القضية : 1) (الحجم : 454)
The current work deals with synthesis of natural polymer hydrogels (Sodium alginate-Chitosan- Arabic Gum) as beads. The beads are formulated with different polymer proportions depending on the experimental central composite (design) Response Surface Methodology (RSM) has been used. The degree of swelling in acidic and neutral mediums was investigated, analyzed, modeled and optimized statistically. A typical drug (Allopurinol) was loaded by using optimized polymer formulations. The loading capacity and the in vitro release profiles were estimated. The shape and morphological analysis for the beads before and after drug releasing have been investigated also by using Scanning Electron Microscope. The results obtained confirmed that Arabic Gum content was a significant parameter in the swelling processes regardless the pH of the swelling media. Thus, swelling indices of the beads were higher in acidic medium (pH 3.9) compared to that once in (pH 7.1), to indicate a pH-sensitive swelling behavior. An optimum RSM results for swelling indices of 504.98 % and 207.97 % were obtained in acidic and neutral medium respectively. The in vitro drug release showed equilibrium after 12 hours where as (66.1- 85.7 %) and (44-54 %) was released at pH 3.9 and 7.1 respectively. The SEM analysis of the polymer beads confirmed that the beads had lost their shape due to erosion and swelling activities after releasing of the drug.

Desulphurization of Tawke Diesel Fuel by Adsorption on Na-Y Type Zeolite, Local Clay and Active Carbon
2015-09
International Research Journal of Pure & Applied Chemistry (القضية : 1) (الحجم : 10)
The removal of sulfur compounds from Tawke diesel fuel is processed by the use of granular Na-Y
type zeolite, MOR type zeolite, molecular sieve 3A type, local clay and activated charcoal. The
results are characterized by sulfur meter and infrared spectroscopy to improve the results of
desulfurization process. It is clear Apparently from our results that the desulfurization by activated
charcoal is more efficient than by the clay, zeolite type and almost reach more than 20%.
Synthesis and characterization of some coordination polymalimides
2015-05
Am. Chem. Sci. J (القضية : 7) (الحجم : 3)
Twelve polymeric complexes were prepared from the polymerization of phenylazo-3-N-(4-hydroxyphenyl) maleimide and Phenylazo-3-N-(3-hydroxyphenyl) maleimide, with salts of Cr3+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Cu2+ and Fe2+ these complexes were characterized by UV, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, molar conductivity and magnetic moment, to ensure their geometry, according to these measurements all the complexes have tetrahedral geometry accept [CrL2Cl3. H2O] and [NiL1Cl2. 2H2O] which have octahedral one. The biological activity of these complexes showed a moderate inhibition towards some growth bacteria.
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME NEW AZO COORDINATION POLYMERS
2015-05
International Journal of Current Research and Review (القضية : 10) (الحجم : 7)
The synthesis of the ligand 2, 2’-(4, 4’-(1-methyl-3, 4-phenylene bis (diazene-2, 1-diyl)) bis (4, 1-phenylene)) bis (azanediyl) bis (oxomethylene) dibenzoic acid (L) and its coordinated polymers with six metals (Cu+ 2, Co+ 2, Ni+ 2, Pt+ 2, Th+ 4 and U+ 6) are characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility. Thegeometries of the complexesdiver between octahedral and square plannerexcept for Th+ 4 and U+ 6 complexes which are eight coordinated number. All the complexes have a well considerable biological activity against different organisms.

Separation and Spectroscopic Characterization of N-Paraffin Waxes and Isoparaffins from Three Local Crudes in Kurdistan Region of Iraq
2013-06
Science Journal of University of Zakho (القضية : 1) (الحجم : 1)
Samples of light, medium and extra heavy Kurdistan crude oils and have been de-asphalted and separated into fractions of saturates by elution liquid chromatography technique. The fractions obtained were separated into n-paraffins, isoparaffins by urea adduction and analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy. The infrared data confirmed the presence of methyl and methylene groups in the saturate fractions of the crude oils. Tawke paraffins fraction have highest value of methyl index, while Jamjamal have the lowest, it means that it has the longest chains of saturate hydrocarbon more than others, while Taqtaq isoparaffins have the highest value, Jamjamal has the lowest.

New Complexes of Polyurea with Copper (II), Manganese (II) and Chromium (III)(Synthesis and Characterization)
2010-04
National J. Chem (الحجم : 38)
New coordination polymers of the transition metal ions Cu (II), Mn (II) m Cr (III) with six polyurea ligands were prepared. The polyurea ligands were synthesized by the condensation of urea with the corresponding diamine. These ligands were:
-Poly (N, N-1, 4-phenylene diamine) urea(PPU)-Poly (N, N-1, 3-phenylene diamine) urea(PMU)-Poly (N, N-1, 2-phenylene diamine) urea(POU)-Poly (N, N-2, 4-Toluidene diamine) urea(PTU)-Poly (NN-Benzidene) urea(PBU)-Poly (N, N-ethylene diamine) urea(PEU) The prepared compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, UV, IR and H1NMR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Moreover, thermal stability were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). For polyureas it was found that increasing aromaticity inhances thermal stability as follows:
