A Comparative Study on the Effect of Hydrogen Sulfide on Isolated aortic smooth muscle contractility of Fishes, Pigeons and Rats

2014-01-01
The current study targeted the investigation of the molecular mechanism of contractility induced hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in fish, pigeon, and rat aortic smooth muscle. The aorta isolated from the studied animals was cut into 2-3 mm rings, mounted in an organ bath containing physiologic solution and provided with force transducers for measuring the developed isometric tension. The data was recorded using PowerLab Data Acquisition System.
