Abstract
The research paper entitle "The Measurement of Meaning for gradable adjective in Kurdish- Bahdini Local accent" is conducted on the basis of Osgood's theory of semantic differentials supported by the Likert Scale for ratings. The research links linguistics with psychology and is applied to a group of society in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (the students of University of Zakho/ Faculty of Humanities/ Departments of Kurdish, Arabic, English and Turkish for the academic year 2019-2020). These were selected because Semantics module is studied in all these departments and the students have, at least, basic information about it compared with other students who do not study this module. The research tries to get acquainted with the manner in which people measure the meaning of gradable adjectives in different ways. As well as this، it tries to know how much effect or influence the variables of the sample (gender) have on the semantic differences. The results were obtained by the statistical program of SPSS which stated a moderate significant difference between males and females responses in favor of females.

The Thesis links the Linguistic and Psychological fields and applies to one or more social class.
The Thesis is divided into five chapters, as follows:
The first chapter: This chapter is the Introduction to the Thesis and includes: the Issue, the Title, the Importance, the Aim, the Methodology, the Limits, the Form, the Obstacles and the Thesis Framework.
Chapter Two: It consists of two suctions:
The first suction: This item deals with the meaning and dimensions of measuring the meaning, then clarifying the concepts (meaning, qualification of how and measuring the meaning), as well as in theory the Thesis discusses the positive adjective and negative adjective, measuring the meaning and the relative meaning, the characteristics of meaning measurement.
The second suction: discussed in this item the measurement of the meaning and the two concepts (positive and negative) in qualitative adjective, the relationship between the meaning in Language and Psychology, and the Process of measuring the meaning, the Criticisms and supports directed at that process, then we discussed ways to measure the meaning of positive and negative concepts For the adjective in the Language.
Chapter III:
Applying the process of measuring the meaning of qualitative adjective and according to social variables (gender and educational level) on a sample of students from the University of Zakho.
Chapter four:
Announcing and discussing Thesis results.
Chapter five:
Formulating conclusions, directions and suggestions for Thesis.
Finally, The list included of sources, annexes and a summary of the Thesis in Arabic and English Language.
