Professional Experience
After graduation from the Medical School of Duhok University, I worked as a junior house officer and senior house officer before arriving in Nottingham in 2004 to do an MSc in Clinical Microbiology. I completed the course with "distinction" and followed it with a PhD project, studying the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori infections. I joined the MBIG as a research fellow in Nottingham in 2008 to work on meningitis. In December 2016, I was awarded FRCP from the royal college of physicians in Edinburgh. I am interested in research in H. pylori, hepatitis virus and multidrug resistant microorganisms. In addition, I was a member of the department of internal medicine and teach undergraduate students and internal medicine board students. I have supervised students in different levels including undergraduate, MSc, PhD and board students. Currently, I am the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Zakho
